Latvian "few-thorned" variety with dark red fruits rich in pectin.
'Mazērkšķotā' (syn. 'Vīksnes Mazērkšķotā') is a valuable Latvian gooseberry variety, whose name translates to "Few-thorned". This characteristic, along with tasty fruits and good resistance, makes it popular among growers. Due to its high content of anthocyanins and pectin, it is often used in further breeding.
