Agát Donskoj is a dark table grape variety originating in Russia and is a typical representative of undemanding PIWI varieties, which are synonymous with reliability and crop security. Due to its extreme resistance and minimal requirements, it is an ideal choice for beginners and for cultivation in marginal or colder areas. It produces medium to large, conical clusters with medium-sized, round berries of a rich dark blue to black color with a pronounced bloom. The taste is simple but very pleasant, sweet and harmonious, without any disturbing tones, making it a popular treat. As one of the earliest varieties, it ripens in early August and is notable for its excellent frost resistance down to -26 °C and good resistance to fungal diseases. It is fully self-pollinating and extremely fertile, so it is recommended to regulate the crop to achieve better quality. It is important to emphasize that this is exclusively a table variety intended for direct consumption, not for wine production. Agát Donskoj is simply a safe bet for anyone looking for an almost maintenance-free vine with a regular and abundant harvest of tasty grapes.
