Stella is a modern and highly prized table grape variety that has rightly won the hearts of many gardeners. Its success is based on a combination of three key characteristics: it is seedless, highly resistant to disease and frost, and ripens very early, making it a reliable choice even in less favorable growing conditions. When choosing, it is important to know that there are two colour-different but equally high-quality varieties available on the market under this name. The more widespread dark Stella offers large clusters with medium-sized, violet-blue berries with a pleasant fruity taste, while excelling in extreme frost resistance down to -28 °C and top resistance to fungal diseases. The light Stella is also popular, with large clusters of fresh green-yellow berries, whose sweet and harmonious taste can also have a subtle hint of nutmeg. Despite their color differences, both versions share the same main purpose – they are exclusively table varieties intended for direct consumption, ideal for children and adults alike. They are among the very early varieties that produce a rich harvest as early as mid-August. Their high resistance makes them almost maintenance-free plants, suitable for organic cultivation without chemical sprays. Whether you choose the dark or light variety, Stella is a guarantee of reliability and will reward you with a rich harvest of delicious grapes even where other, more sensitive varieties would struggle.
