The 'Carola' pear is a Swedish-Polish autumn variety with large, aromatic fruits and excellent frost resistance. The tree grows moderately vigorously, reaching a height of 3.5 to 4.5 meters and forming a well-shaped crown. The fruits ripen in the second half of September, are greenish-yellow with a reddish-brown blush, large (200-250 g), with juicy, sweet and delicately aromatic flesh. They are suitable for direct consumption and storage – they can last until January when kept cool. The variety is not self-pollinating and achieves the best yields in the presence of pollinators such as 'Faworytka', 'Konferencia' or 'Komisówka'. It is frost-resistant (down to –30 °C) and moderately disease-resistant. It thrives best in a sunny location in well-drained, nutritious soil.
