This excellent variety originates from Ukraine, specifically from the M.M. Gryška National Botanical Garden in Kiev. It is characterised by medium growth and forms a spreading, spherical crown. It grows to a height of approximately 3–4 metres.
The fruits are exceptionally large, with an average weight of 7–8 grams, but can reach up to 10 grams. They are bottle-shaped to pear-shaped, with dark red shiny skin and red, aromatic flesh with a pleasant sweet-sour taste. The stone is small, which increases the proportion of tasty flesh.
The variety is cross-pollinated – a suitable pollinator must be provided for a good harvest. It ripens moderately late, usually in late August to early September.
Thanks to its taste and fruit size, it is ideal for processing – jams, juices, or compotes – but also for direct consumption after full ripening. The plant is fully frost-resistant and resistant to common diseases, making it suitable even for more demanding conditions.
