Cherry (Prunus avium) 'Ferrovia'
Traditional Italian late variety with high-quality and resistant fruits.
'Ferrovia' is a historical and very popular Italian cherry variety, known for its high fruit quality and robustness. It is appreciated for its large, dark red, and tasty fruits, which are resistant to cracking and tolerate transport well. It is a reliable variety that also serves as an excellent pollinator for other late cherries.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Large fruits (8 – 12 g, 28-30 mm) with intense red color.
- Excellent sweet taste with mild acidity.
- Good resistance to fruit cracking in rain.
- Excellent transportability and shelf life.
- High and stable yield (with good pollination).

Cultivation Recommendations
- Pollination: Self-sterile. Suitable pollinators: 'Kordia', 'Regina', 'Van', 'Burlat', 'Canada Giant', 'Sweetheart'. It is a good pollinator for 'Kordia' and 'Regina'.
Harvest and Storage
