Balcony and ground cover - Lowbush

They are very small shrubs, often grown in pots for their fruit and ornamental value. Some varieties can be used for their ground cover properties. They are often complex hybrids rather than pure narrow-leaved blueberries.
Name: Narrow-leaved blueberry x hybrid (Vaccinium angustifolium x hybrid)
Origin: Northeastern North America and Canada. It is a wild blueberry that is commercially grown in huge fields.
Characteristic features
Growth: Low, ground-covering shrub, only 20-60 cm tall. It often spreads through underground shoots (rhizomes) and forms continuous stands.
Fruits: Small, but considered the tastiest and most aromatic of all commercial blueberries. They have an intense, sweet taste, which is closest to that of European wild blueberries.
Cultivation: Rarely grown as shrubs in gardens, they are more commonly used as balcony plants.
Frost resistance: Extreme, can withstand frosts down to -40°C, ground cover varieties thrive when protected by snow cover
