The Solnechnyi (Солнечный) variety originates from Ukraine, specifically from the Sofiyivka National Arboretum. It is characterized by upright, moderately vigorous growth and forms a beautiful oval crown. It grows to a height of approximately 3–4 meters.
The fruits are large, weighing 5-7 grams, pear-shaped and bright red in color. Their taste is excellent – sweet with a slight acidity and a distinctive aroma, making it a favorite variety for fruit lovers.
The variety is partially self-pollinating, but planting with other varieties is recommended for a higher yield. It ripens in the second half of August, making it a medium-early variety.
Thanks to its sweet and aromatic taste, it is ideal for direct consumption, but also very suitable for processing – for example, into jams, juices, or for drying.
The plant is fully frost-resistant and resistant to common diseases, so it can also be grown in less favorable conditions.
