Family Apple Tree (4 in 1): Cukuriņš + Majoru Saldais + Beržeņinku Ananass + Antejs

A fascinating fruit tree full of unconventional flavors. Enjoy a sequential harvest from sweet summer apples resembling pears and pineapples, to the Belarusian winter king that stores until May.

1. Apple 'Cukuriņš' (Early Summer Variety)

A historical, exceptionally sweet "Candy" – an old variety with a strong apple aroma and crunchy flesh, highly favored by children.

The season on this tree is opened by the ancient Baltic legend 'Cukuriņš' (translating to Candy, 1848). It delights children and lovers of very sweet fruits, as its flesh is completely acid-free. It is a vital variety with good disease resistance, highly suitable for organic growing.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Candy-like sweetness: Extremely sweet, crunchy flesh with a pronounced fragrance.
  • Organic quality: Good natural disease resistance (spray-free cultivation).
  • Early summer harvest: One of the very first fresh summer apples of the season.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Smaller, yellow-green fruits with a fine red striping.
  • Harvest Time: Early summer, ripening as early as July.
  • Pruning tip: The variety has sharp crotch angles and a tendency for blind wood. Prune to encourage lateral branching.

2. Apple 'Majoru Saldais' (Late Summer Variety)

A historical "Marzipan" apple from the 19th century with a flavor reminiscent of sweet, juicy pears.

During August, the 'Majoru Saldais' variety ripens seamlessly. It is a humble, low-maintenance summer apple tree distinguished by extreme wood frost hardiness. Its fruits have an unusual pear-like undertone and are a highly sought-after summer treat.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Pear-like sweetness: Distinctly sweet, specific flavor, particularly popular with children.
  • Extreme frost hardiness: Withstands very harsh winters in colder regions.
  • Low maintenance: A highly undemanding tree with high disease resistance.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Medium-sized, pale (yellowish) fruits with a marbled red blush on the sunny side.
  • Harvest Time: Early to mid-August. Fruits are meant for immediate consumption (short shelf life).

3. Apple 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (Autumn Variety)

A famous Lithuanian jewel featuring large fruits, high disease resistance, and an unsurpassed pineapple fragrance.

At the end of summer, 'Beržeņinku Ananass' (syn. Beržininkų ananasas), an old variety discovered in 1886, takes the stage. It is highly valued for its large fruits, which turn a beautiful ivory color at maturity, and its excellent health profile.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Luxurious taste: Outstanding, highly aromatic sweet-sour flavor.
  • Large fruits: Average weight of up to 155 g.
  • High Resistance: Fully resistant to scab, powdery mildew, and fruit rot.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance: Roundish-conical fruits, yellow to ivory with an orange blush on the sunny side. The flesh is firm and juicy.
  • Harvest Time: Late August to early September. Keeps in the cellar until December.

4. Apple 'Antejs' (Late Winter Variety)

The Belorussian winter king. Huge dark red fruits with excellent flavor and storability well into late spring.

This family tree is grandly completed by the excellent winter variety 'Antejs' (Antey). It is an extremely productive variety (yields up to 55 t/ha) whose fruits possess high market value. The apples are firm, very tasty, and keep fresh in the cellar until May.

Main advantages of the variety:

  • Excellent storability: Apples keep in the cellar from December to March, and up to May under optimal conditions.
  • Huge fruits: Large to very large apples (200 – 250 g) with an intense bluish waxy bloom.
  • Regular cropping: Very high yield; the mature tree bears reliably every year.
Fruit and Harvest
  • Appearance and taste: Raspberry-burgundy to dark red apples. The flesh is firm, fine-grained, juicy, and has a very pleasant sweet-sour taste (4.3 out of 5 points).
  • Harvest Time: Second half to late September. Eating maturity is reached after storage in December.
