Pear (Pyrus communis) 'Capul Piscului'
Old, indigenous Romanian variety with high resistance and large fruits.
'Capul Piscului' (syn. 'Pere cu gât') is a very old autochthonous (indigenous) Romanian variety, grown in the Argeș region for almost a century. It is highly valued for its excellent adaptability to local conditions, high disease resistance, and the authentic taste of its large fruits.
Main advantages of the variety:
- Very high resistance to diseases and pests.
- High yield (40 – 60 kg per tree).
- Large fruits (150 – 250 g) with a pleasant taste.
- Good storage life (until December).
- Proven variety, undemanding and adaptable.
Origin and Registration

- History: Very old, traditional variety (80 – 100 years).
- Synonyms: 'Pere cu gât' (Pears with a neck)
