Plum (Prunus domestica) 'Oda'
A Ukrainian variety with large fruits and high resistance.
'Oda' (Ода) is a Ukrainian plum variety with less vigorous to medium growth. It is valued for its large fruits with a very good, sweet-tart flavour with spicy notes, its early entry into bearing, and high yield. It is also characterized by high resistance to frost and fungal diseases.

Origin and Registration

Variety Characteristics
Tree
- Growth: Less vigorous to medium-vigorous, grows to a height of approximately 2.5 m.
- Crown: Globular, drooping, medium density.
- Flowering: Late April to early May.
Fruit
- Size and weight: Large, with a weight of 40 – 50 g.
- Shape and colour: Oval. Purple-burgundy to purple-brown, with greenish spots and a strong waxy bloom.
- Flesh: Yellow (amber), tender and juicy.
- Flavour: Very good, sweet-tart, with spicy notes (rating 4.6/5).
- Stone: Small to medium-sized, easily separable from the flesh.
- Use: Versatile.
