An old Estonian variety with a characteristic pear flavour.
'Tallinna pirnõun' (meaning "Tallinn Pear-Apple") is an old Estonian landrace variety, described as early as the 18th century. It is valued for its characteristic pear flavour and good frost resistance. Despite its low yield and late entry into bearing, it has great breeding significance.
