Romanian flat variety with white flesh, high yield, and resistance.

'Alex' is a modern Romanian flat peach variety ("donut" type), bred at the SCDP Băneasa station. It originated from the selection of the well-known variety 'Peen-too'. It is valued for its large, attractive fruits with white flesh that separates well from the stone, and for its high resistance to frost and diseases.

• Flowering: Mid-season, flowers are pinkish.

Fruit

• Shape: Flat (saucer-shaped).
• Size and Weight: Large, 125 – 150 g.
• Skin: White-creamy, covered with red color on 25% of the surface. It is not prone to cracking.
• Flesh: White, with fine texture.
• Taste: Very good, sweet, slightly acidic, and aromatic.
• Stone: Freestone (separates from flesh).
• Usage: Fresh consumption and processing (compotes, jams).
